Dahlia kwekerij Baars in Frankfurt

FloraPodium was on tour. We had a small introduction of our Podium at the Tendence in Frankfurt Messe. Here we told who we are and what we do. Of course we have represented some beautiful flower varieties here. Including, the Dahlia. A nice seasonal product in the most beautiful shapes and beautiful bright colors. We have had a lot of positive reactions to this flowers!

A large part of the Dahia's that we brought to Frankfurt came from the nursery Baars in Roelofarendsveen (The Netherlands). We paid a visit to Patrick and his wife Annet in preparation for the Tendence. We were given a tour of the greenhouses with beautiful species of Dahlias. They are one of the few Dahlia growers who grow inside the greenhouse. Most growers grow outside. Because they grow inside, their production starts earlier than the outdoor growers and they are less weather-dependent.

Originally, this tuberous plant comes from Mexico. In the 18th century we took this beautiful flower to Europe. The flower was named after the Swedish Botanist Andreas Dahl.

In addition to its beauty, different shapes and colours, the Dahlia symbolizes wealth, femininity, attractiveness, 'forever yours', strength and pride. What message do you want to convey?
